Now that you’ve created a queue of your personal best times to post, you’re all ready to Quick Schedule Instagram posts! Select multiple photos or videos from your media library, and just drag and drop them at the top of your calendar to Quick Schedule. To adjust your time, just drag the timeslot to the desired time. To create your queue, simply double-click on the timeslot that you’d like to add, and a grey box will appear. And if you don’t know by now, a Finsta is essentially a “fake Instagram.” The premise is simple: You can use this account as a private Instagram for you and your closest friends or use it as a planning device to see what pictures will look good on your real feed - the choice is up to you!īut in the case that you do, here are seven Instagram grid apps that will help you achieve the Instagram aesthetic of your dreams. To Quick Schedule your Instagram posts, you’ll want to start by creating your Instagram queue on the “weekly” tab of Later’s content calendar. If you’re one of those people, consider opting for the infamous “Finsta” account. Sometimes people don’t want to log their credentials into a third-party app, and that’s totally OK. Curating your feed doesn’t have to be hard, and these apps make it easy for anyone to have their feed looking influencer-esque in no time. And although it has recently become a trend to have an almost “imperfect” feed in the recent months, it’s still a good idea to plan out what you’re going to post, for aesthetic purposes, of course. When users view your Instagram account, the first thing they notice is the feed. However, the aesthetically pleasing Instagram feed may be the most important, and surest way to reach your goals, quicker. There are other ways of increasing followers, and therefore engagement levels, like investing time in making creative Instagram stories, sharing live videos, or creating an Instagram Reel. Why Should You Use An Instagram Planning App?Īn Instagram feed planning app is a great idea for those who are trying to increase either A) followers or B) engagement on their account. And in this case, the professional is an app. No - you need the help of a professional. But this type of feed doesn't just come out of guessing which photo will look the best next to your last post. Whether this means utilizing the color wheel to keep your Instagram grid colorful or giving all of your pictures the same dulled-out filter, the choice is up to you. If you look at accounts of famous bloggers like Tara Milk Tea, Amra Olvević Reyes, and Asiyami Gold, you'll see that on top of making sure each of their individual pictures looks incredible, they clearly pay attention to how their Instagram grid layout looks as a whole. We all know finding the perfect Instagram aesthetic is an art. It can be hard to figure that out if you post pictures as you take them, but apps that let you preview your Instagram grid before posting a photo can help. Do the colors go together well? Are filters consistent? Is there a theme? All of these are essential to your "perfect" feed. And I'm not just talking about figuring out when to post or how often. If you're a budding Instagram influencer or just want to have an Instagram aesthetic that you love, planning your Instagram grid is super important.

They began setting up late and so our schedule was pushed back. We were given 10 tables (5 cocktail tables and 5 small sitting tables) and 15 chairs. They did not provide enough tables even though we were told we would have enough for 300 people. They forgot to set up our registration table on time so our check in was messed up. They yelled at us to get out faster and began touching our belongings. We were told about this hidden fee during the event. They chose not to tell us that we would not be able to leave early without paying for parking. They charged us for parking when we were told it was free. They lied to us about hidden fees and set up our space incorrectly. The venue was pretty but the staff was the worst. I googled "discount adventure aquarium tickets" and got a great discount code that saved $25 off the regular price! We loved the hippo exhibit! I think a visit when the outdoor areas are open and accessible would allow people to spread out more. The aquarium itself is a standard set up.walking around the outside of the tank with viewing windows. People also need to realize they cannot stop in the middle of a hallway with a baby coach and their family members. Once inside and through security, the place was packed with baby strollers! There is not enough room for people to maneuver through the common areas. We proceeded to the entrance (entrance sign) only to find that it wasn't the entrance? We were directed back to a random set of doors with a rock holding it open? There were no staff directing the guests that were outside of the marked lines and down the sidewalk. We had purchased tickets online to avoid the ticket line. It was a crowded Saturday morning around 11:00am. We visited the aquarium with our grandchildren. As we left around 2:00 the lines wound around the building with no improvement in the weather. We only had to wait out in the bitter cold for a brief time. My advise would be to arrive as close to opening time (10:00 a.m.) as possible. Not being a fastfood aficionado I found the smell of all that grease a bit off putting There are also a number of child play areas but they really aren't necessary and certainly a distraction to the original purpose of going to the aquarium.Īll in all it was quite a pleasant way to spend the day. As soon as you enter the building there was a huge concession selling food! Every so often you ran into yet another fastfood location. The one rather strange part was all of the various food courts. There are a number of areas where anyone can pet/touch starfish, stingrays, and other such ocean dwelling animals. There was not enough time to see everything in one day and sadly the penguin exhibit will have to wait for another time. With encouragement he did make it across. The two year old was not quite sure and it states that no child can be carried they must walk on their own. There is a suspended bridge, completely enclosed with cargo netting over a pool of sharks. The hippos were very interesting and fun to watch playing with a ball. They even had a beautiful African Grey parrot in an aviary. There are terrariums with spiders, frogs, turtles and such. There are beautiful aquariums with exotic fish - my favorite was the large yellow tropical fish. The name is misleading as the exhibits include all kinds of animals. Recently we took my grandsons to the Adventure Aquarium in Camden, NJ. Oh and try and go when the weather is nice so you can stroll the promenade outside and enjoy the great river views. I would have been pretty disappointed if I paid full price for a family of four. Just be sure you have a promo code or some sort of discount coupon. So the $25 stuffed shark I bought doesn’t just help maintain the penguins, it supports a corporate entity. Mind you, the aquarium is no longer a non-profit it’s a for profit venture. You exit their best exhibit through a giant gift shop and along the way there were plenty of professionals willing to take your photo for a fee. Otherwise admission for 4 would gave been more than $100! Inside also turned me off as we passed claw machines, multiple food concessions, dippin dot machines and massage chairs. Luckily they had a promotion going so my two kids were free. What turned me off about AA was the expense. The other exhibits were certainly fine but nothing extraordinary or particularly exotic. Unfortunately, the hippos were not on display but I would imagine them to be the second best attraction. Shark tunnel was very cool and by far the highlight. AA is a fairly small aquarium but certainly enjoyable enough. First, ABP blocks your ads (without asking) and then asks for money to unblock them. “If you were a website owner, would you share the ad income with ABP? I don't think so. “I think the ‘Acceptable Ads’ idea will only work out if there is no money involved,” wrote a user called “freakinvibe” on the plugin’s message board when the idea of the whitelist was first announced. The mafia comparisons are not helped by a lack of transparency around the financial terms of being on the whitelist.”Įven some users of Adblock Plus agree. “We think this is very unfortunate, as acceptable ads are the only way to avoid more people choosing to install Adblock. His company provides analytical services for websites looking to find out how much they are losing to users of ad blockers. “‘Shakedown’, ‘racketeering’ and ‘extortion’ are common terms publishers we've spoken with have used in relation to ‘acceptable ads’,” says Sean Blanchfield of PageFair. "First it blocks your ads, and then asks for money to unblock them" Yet the idea of paying the company which creates the problem to make the problem go away might not seem palatable either. But for the many sites which rely on advertising - not only Twitter, but Facebook, Yahoo and many media organisations (including the Guardian) - the idea of millions of desktop users not seeing the ads that pay a significant part of their bills is a problem. Twitter declined to comment for this article on its thinking about Adblock Plus’s offer. “Small” sites - the precise definition of “small” isn’t given - don’t have to pay if their ads are deemed acceptable. And, as it makes clear, even big websites whose advertising methods (text only, no flashy gimmicks) it finds acceptable must hand over a share of their advertising revenue for the reward of being on the “whitelist” and showing their ads to visitors. If anyone more knowledgeable than myself can tell for sure, here is how to reproduce my results first add this rule to Adblock Plus, *$subdocument,third-party, this blocks third party iframes, than install NoScript and make sure javascript is disabled for, it must be disabled, for some reason, NoScript blocks third party iframes itself if javascript is enabled but not if it's disabled for that page, which by itself is a little peculiar, but anyway do a check, with just addblock plus enabled, authentication (third party frames) will be green (good), soon as you install NoScript, authentication will now be red (bad) for some reason NoScript disables part or all of adblock plus.Adblock Plus’s model is straightforward: unless a site is on its “whitelist”, then it blocks all the ads shown there. Another of note is, using Adblock Plus, I successfully blocked third party iframes, when NoScript was installed, for some reason, third party iframes were allowed again, whether NoScript disables just part of Adblock Plus or all of it, I have no clue, I don't know enough about programming to say either way. Big difference, I don't trust NoScript, they have been caught breaking Mozilla rules on more than one occasion, most recently modifying NoScript so it disables the Ghostery plugin when viewing the NoScript website. Veterans sometimes must prove that their injuries are connected to their service, which can require a lot of paperwork and appeals. VA declined to comment on individual cases, citing privacy concerns. “I bet if you look at the 22 suicides a day you will see VA screwed up in 90%,” Turner wrote in a note investigators found near his body. Jim Turner, 55, dressed in his uniform blues and medals, sat on top of his military and VA records and killed himself with a rifle outside the Bay Pines Department of Veterans Affairs. The most recent parking lot suicide occurred weeks before Christmas in St. While studies show that every suicide is highly complex - influenced by genetics, financial uncertainty, relationship loss and other factors - mental-health experts worry that veterans taking their lives on VA property has become a desperate form of protest against a system that some veterans feel hasn’t helped them. His death is among 19 suicides that occurred on VA campuses from October 2017 to November 2018, seven of them in parking lots, according to the Department of Veterans Affairs. Several days after his death, Miller’s parents received a package from the Department of Veterans Affairs - bottles of antidepressants and sleep aids prescribed to Miller. (Jenn Ackerman for The Washington Post)Ī federal investigation into Miller’s death found that the Minneapolis VA made multiple errors: not scheduling a follow-up appointment, failing to communicate with his family about the treatment plan and inadequately assessing his access to firearms. After spending four days in the mental-health unit, Miller walked to his truck in VA’s parking lot and shot himself in the very place he went to find help. Miller was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and suicidal thoughts when he checked into the Minneapolis Department of Veterans Affairs hospital in February 2018. Play How to Complete the Die Maschine Cold War Zombies Easter It is believed that the J-35, which bears a visual resemblance to the Lockheed Martin F-35, is powered by a pair of indigenously-developed WS-21 engines, but that the ultimate powerplant is the more powerful WS-19. Handholds on the cockpit frame are also consistent with an aircraft that will be subject to high- g EMALS launches. One notable change from the J-31/FC-31 is an electro-optical targeting system (EOTS) under the aircraft’s chin. The few images available show a launch bar attached to its forward undercarriage and an arresting hook for trapping aboard a carrier. Little is also known about the AVIC J-35/J-XY – a development of the FC-31/J-31 programme – that had its first flight in October 2021. It is also unknown known if the KJ-600 airframe will be developed for other work, such as carrier on-board delivery or anti-submarine warfare (ASW). The company claims that the system can track targets at all altitudes, including sea-skimming cruise missiles. What is all but certain is that the KJ-600 will be equipped with an active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar, possibly CETC’s KLC-7. It is unknown if the aircraft has undergone EMALS or arrested landing tests. In layout, the KJ-600 resembles the USN’s Northrop Grumman E-2 Hawkeye, with a four-fin tail, two turboprop engines, and the distinctive ‘flying-saucer’ radome above the fuselage. It is believed that several prototypes of the KJ-600 are under testing, with images showing the aircraft in flight. Nonetheless, details emerge – albeit slowly. Things are further complicated by aviation fans and other parties posting altered and downright fraudulent images of aircraft. Moreover, in recent years a secrecy-obsessed Beijing has moved aggressively to limit the exposure of defence capabilities on social media. Unlike a titanic warship taking shape near busy Shanghai, visible from the window seats of commercial aircraft, the development of new combat aircraft is far easier to hide. However, the Fujian represents a much more complex and demanding proposition… an operating capability for the Fujian is still likely several years away – probably the second half of this decade at the earliest.”įujian’s future air wing also remains shrouded in secrecy. “Beijing has also shown remarkable pace in bringing its latest large amphibious ships into service recently. “The Chinese seem to have made brisk progress with fitting out the Fujian since launch, with some talk of sea trials in the coming months,” says Childs. Nick Childs, senior fellow for naval forces and maritime security at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), is impressed with Fujian’s progress, but warns that it will be some years before China’s first super carrier is operational. Though years of testing still lie ahead, the emergence of the catapult brings China’s vision of a future super carrier fleet that much closer.Ĭhina’s developmental KJ-600 AEW&C aircraft Recent aerial pictures show that the shed covering Fujian’s single ‘waist’ EMALS has been removed, revealing a long trench backed by a sturdy jet blast deflector. While STOBAR carriers are less complex than CATOBAR vessels, aircraft suffer payload penalties when taking off and such ships are not conducive to operating support types, namely large airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft such as the developmental Xian KJ-600. These vessels are short take-off but arrested landing (STOBAR) carriers, and use a ski-jump to launch China’s premier naval fighter, the Shenyang J-15. The employment of EMALS will make Fujian comparable to the USN’s fleet of catapult assisted take-off but arrested recovery (CATOBAR) carriers.ĮMALS will also allow the 80,000t Fujian to launch aircraft with heavier payloads than China’s current pair of in-service carriers, CNS Liaoning and Shandong. Though the technology proved troublesome aboard the only carrier to use the technology so far – the US Navy’s USS Gerald Ford - EMALS requires less space, recharges faster than steam, and imposes less stress on aircraft. In July, images emerged on Chinese social media showing that the shed covering Fujian’s waist EMALS had been removedĮMALS uses a linear induction motor to launch aircraft, as opposed to steam catapults. It’s not explicitly in this documentary, but perhaps something worth asking after watching a film about an artist who experienced fascism first-hand. Would his work, or any work that walks the line the way his does, be tolerated today? The late Susan Sontag challenged him on TV about his assertion that he loved women, suggesting that loving women and being a misogynist were not incompatible.īut perhaps the most intriguing point of view comes from Vogue’s formidable driving force Wintour, who hired him frequently in spite of the controversies. She describes his work as “necessary,” even if it “sometimes upsets people,” and celebrates the role his tough images had in a magazine devoted to beautiful images. She also intriguingly muses about whether his fashion images that veered into S&M were also him expressing anger at women. Isabella Rossellini said you had to understand he wasn’t photographing you, but rather an idea, “So you have to make yourself available, or say no.” “He was a little bit pervert, but it’s okay, so was I.” Singer Grace Jones who saw his work outré, but never vulgar. To get a perspective on the work, Von Boehm turned to some of the models Newton worked with most frequently, including Grace Jones, Nadja Auerman, Charlotte Rampling, Claudia Schiffer, Hanna Schygulla and Isabella Rossellini.Ī few of them had never posed in the nude before and trusted him, seeing him as a story teller. In another assignment for French Vogue he shoots images of expensive jewelry on the hands of a woman cutting up chickens.īut the bulk of the film deals with his fashion work, and the way he portrayed women. When asked to photograph Jean-Marie Le Pen, the French extreme right wing National Front, he photographs him with his dogs, in a shot that echoes a picture of Adolf Hitler. The film portrays the artist as a man with a singular vision, and with a sense of mischief and humour, especially when it came to politics. Among other honors, Newton received the German Kodak Award for Photographic Books, a Life Legend Award from Life magazine, and an award from the American Institute for Graphic Arts for his photographs. He ultimately landed in Australia, where he met June and began doing commercial and fashion photography, and from there ended up launching his fashion career. In 2003, he died in a car crash in Los Angeles, at 84 years old. He continued to travel later in life, dividing his time between his homes in Monte Carlo and Los Angeles. In Paris he began working for French Vogue, and later Playboy, Elle, and other publications during the 1950s and 1960s as his reputation grew, traveling frequently throughout the world on assignments. He later opened up a photography studio, and moved to Europe in the 1950s. He fled increasing Nazi oppression in Germany in 1938, shortly after Kristallnacht, and worked in Singapore and Australia during World War II, serving in the Australian army for several years. It is reputed that Newton first became enamored with the female nude as a photographic subject as a teenager, while working as an apprentice to theater photographer Yva in Berlin. He increasingly focused more on these images rather than fashion photography emphasizing the aggressive and incendiary in his works.īorn to a Jewish family in Berlin in 1920, Newton received his first camera at 12 years old, often neglecting his studies in school to pursue photography. editor-in-chief Anna Wintour once described his work as “synonymous with Vogue at its most glamorous and mythic.” Known for the dramatic lighting and the unconventional poses of his models in his photographs, Newton’s work has been characterized as obsessive and subversive, incorporating themes of sadomasochism, prostitution, violence, and a persistently-overt sexuality into the narratives of his images. Newton is considered to have imbued fashion photography with narrative depth, giving context to his subjects by creating stylized, dreamlike scenes. “If a photographer says he is not a voyeur, he is an idiot,” he once said. Photographer Helmut Newton is most famous for his work as a fashion photographer, frequently creating work for Vogue magazine, and for his provocative, studied photographs of nudes. The women have been seen to dance by slapping both palms on the thighs whilst simultaneously tapping the feet rhythmically in a bent-knee stance. Artistic engravings of simple geometric designs and shade contrasts have been seen on their weapons. They seldom use the canoes for cross-island navigation. Canoes are used for lagoon-fishing, but long poles rather than paddles or oars propel them. There is no evidence of their having knowledge of metallurgy outside of cold forging to make tools such as arrow heads, though Andamanese scholar Vishvajit Pandya notes that Onge narratives often recall voyages by their ancestors to North Sentinel to procure metal. Sentinelese appreciate the value of metal, having scavenged it to create tools and weapons, and accepted aluminum cookware left by the National Geographic Society in 1974. Usual habitations include small temporary huts erected on four poles with slanted leaf-covered roofs. They also wear some ornaments such as necklaces and headbands, but are essentially naked. Both sexes wear bark strings the men tuck daggers into their waist belts. They are not known to engage in agriculture. They are believed to eat a lot of molluscs, given the abundance of roasted shells found in their settlements. They likely use bows and arrows to hunt terrestrial wildlife and more rudimentary methods to catch local seafood, such as mud crabs and molluscan shells. A handbook released in 2016 by the Anthropological Survey of India on "Vulnerable Tribe Groups" estimates the population at between 100 and 150. During a 2014 circumnavigation, researchers recorded six females, seven males (all apparently under 40 years old) and three children younger than four. The 2011 Census of India recorded 12 males and three females. 2004 post- tsunami expeditions recorded counts of 32 and 13 individuals in 20, respectively. This survey was conducted from a distance and may not have been accurate. In 2001, the Census of India officially recorded 21 men and 18 women. A 1986 expedition recorded the highest count, 98. The 1971 census estimated the population at around 82, and the 1981 census at 100. No rigorous census has been conducted and the population has been variously estimated to be as low as 15 or as high as 500. They showed no signs of obesity and had very prominent muscles. During a 2014 circumnavigation of their island, researchers put their height between 1.60 and 1.65 m (5 ft 3 in and 5 ft 5 in) and recorded their skin colour as "dark, shining black" with well-aligned teeth. 2004Ī 1977 report by Heinrich Harrer described a man as 1.60 metres (5 ft 3 in) tall, possibly because of insular dwarfism (the so-called "Island Effect"), nutrition, or simply genetic heritage. Appearance Comparative distributions of Andamanese indigenous peoples, early 1800s vs. The island is surrounded by coral reefs and has a tropical climate. The Sentinelese live on North Sentinel Island, in the Andaman Islands, an Indian archipelago in the Bay of Bengal. There is significant uncertainty as to the group's size, with estimates ranging between 35 and 500 individuals, but mostly between 50 and 200. It further maintains a constant armed patrol in the surrounding waters to prevent intrusions by outsiders. In 1956, the Government of India declared North Sentinel Island a tribal reserve and prohibited travel within 3 nautical miles (5.6 kilometres) of it. They are hostile to outsiders and have killed people who approached or landed on the island. Unlike the others, the Sentinelese appear to have consistently refused any interaction with the outside world. Designated as a particularly vulnerable tribal group and a Scheduled Tribe, they belong to the broader class of Andamanese peoples.Īlong with the Great Andamanese, the Jarawas, the Onge, the Shompen, and the Nicobarese, the Sentinelese are one of the six native and often reclusive people of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
